The enormous technological advances in medicine are affecting the field of wound healing as well, with the emergence of new wound healing agents, medicines and state-of-the-art bandages, and a significant development in wound care and wound healing.

As a result of this recognition, the Hungarian Wound Care Society, a member of the Association of Hungarian Medical Societies, was established on September 26, 1997, organizing, coordinating, collecting and providing information, mediation, clinical examination and information on wound management and wound healing.

In the field of wound care and wound healing, not only the surgical and manual professions are interested in, but also in many other professions (diabetologists, angiologists, dermatologists, general practicioners) and in primary care carers because of chronic wounds, ulcers, bedsores.
